We offer supported employment services to help individuals obtain and maintain employment that aligns with their talents and goals. Let's build your success story together.
Support services include career exploration, resume development, networking with employers, assistance with employment applications, interview guidance and support, job negotiation, facilitating job accommodations, and job coaching.
Community-Based Work Assessments (CBWA)
An evaluation, which lasts between 20 and 25 hours, is conducted in a community employment setting to help the individual learn about their abilities through a variety of hands-on experiences at local businesses. This determines if competitive integrated employment is an appropriate vocational goal. Employment Specialists assess the individual's skills and behaviors on the job and make recommendations regarding future vocational success and services.
Non-Performance Based Supported Employment (NPBSE) Services:
- Job Mentoring is intensive support for individuals with job skills who require assistance in securing or maintaining employment.
- Job Retention is on-site support to help individuals retain employment by learning or relearning job tasks.
- Intermittent Supported Employment is short-term, sporadic assistance for individuals at risk of losing their employment.
Performance-Based Supported Employment (PBSE) Services:
- Job Finding is assistance with resume development, job applications, interview preparation, advocacy, and job negotiation.
- Job Support focuses on post-employment support, like transportation services, workplace acclimation, job coaching, and soft skills training.
- Job Stabilization occurs when the individual's work performance reaches a level acceptable to the employer, as job coaching and other related support services have tapered to a baseline necessary to maintain the individual's employment.
- Case Closure occurs when the individual has been employed for 90 calendar days after the job stabilization phase or is deemed self-sufficient.
Supported Employment Support Plans (SESP)
The plan outlines the level of services an individual may need to maintain competitive employment, based on all the evaluations and assessments they have received.
Extended Services
Extended Services are those supports given to individuals who have not yet achieved stability on the job or need additional supports to maintain employment. These services are provided by the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation only when alternative funding sources are unavailable.
